Mutti Mutti (Muthi Muthi, Madi Madi)
Style: Aboriginal, Intuitive,Contemporary, Abstract
Medium/s : Acrylic on canvas, textured medium, digital art for print on products.
"I am a proud Mutti Mutti woman from the Mallee region of the New South Wales/Victorian border, growing up along the banks of the Murray River, Mungo and the eucalyptus trees.
I love to tell stories, particularly stories of the Dreamtime and our connection to the land through the medium of acrylic on canvas. I am a contemporary Aboriginal artist, and I love working with abstract concepts. I like to make art that feels vibrant and alive, art that causes a shift within the observer. Art is my rebellion but also the way that I fulfil my need to create and play.
I grew up around the art and creations of my aunties, uncles and mother, and so I understand art to be a way of healing and of keeping Culture alive. The Dreaming is a space of symbology and imagery. Being part of a cultural lineage deeply connected to this space, and creating art as a way of expressing it, helps make sense of the often confusing modern world I am living in."

Artwork Title: Paika (Mutti Mutti word meaning 'to rise'.
There is a place called Paika Station located in rural NSW, a significant place for my family. The location of the birthing tree of my great grandmother. The Paika Station was also once a sheep shearing space, and has now been reformed into a homestead where retreats and other special events take place.
