The red kangaroo is a special totem throughout my traditional lands.
In the red pulse of the land, where ochre bleeds into horizon and the wind carries the scent of fire and eucalyptus, lives the Red Kangaroo—the leaper, the lifter of dust, the keeper of song lines.
Her tail sweeps the sand like a paintbrush, drawing ancient messages across Country. Every bound is a beat of the spirit, a wordless song passed down through dust and time.
She doesn’t leap alone.
Her mob follows—elders, mothers, joeys—painting their own rhythms beside hers. Together, they map a story of kinship, of shared breath and belonging.
The Red Kangaroo teaches that we all leave a mark. Not just in what we say, but in how we move through the world. And when we move together, our stories become one great artwork stretching across the land.
