This painting is my depiction of my tribal languages country around the southern part of NSW, border of Victoria. This map features the Lachlan river, Murrrumbidgee river, the Murray river and Mungo, an ancient and sacred site. Aboriginal people did not just settle in one area, and often move about depending on the season, where the waterways flowed and meetings of the tribes. This map is an abstract version of my connection to the land in these areas and represents how our languages connect to the river country.
